Emily Bett Rickards is a Canadian born actress. She was best known in America for her character Felicity Smoak in The CW series Arrow. Rickards is an British Columbia native. Beginning on her career path as a child, she introduced herself to musical theatre and dance, with the hope of later taking on more serious acting. The path to her career began in the early, when she graduated high school, and then attended the Vancouver Film School. There she was enrolled in the Acting Essentials Course. Once she was done with the program and auditioned, she attended an audition for open casting and was signed. Alida Vocal Studio was her place of study in Vancouver. Initially signed as a single-episode guest, her rapport with the show's main character Stephen Amell coupled with positive response from the fans and her humorous quips resulted in her being first signed as a recurring co-star in all of the remaining episodes of the season, and then in a role that was regular for the second season.
