Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is also an author. She founded The Huffington Post, is the chief executive officer and co-founder of Thrive Global as well an writer of fifteen novels. Arianna Huffington is a philanthropist and author as well as a TV host and owner of the independent liberal online newsmagazine The Huffington Post. Born in Greece, Arianna Huffington moved to England with her family at sixteen years of age. While at Cambridge University she earned a MA degree in Economics. When she was 21, she was president of the famed debating society The Cambridge Union' and was the first foreign student who was elected to this position. In the years following after her college graduation, she was an influential conservative syndicated journalist. After a few years after that she launched The Huffington Post which featured critical commentary on the current political landscape. Her fame and popularity helped by attracting a variety of high-profile contributors to write their own opinions regarding news in the field of culture and politics. Arianna became famous when she made the decision to run as independently in the California recall election to replace the Governor Davis. Apart from this she also managed a Detroit project to promote vehicles that are fuel efficient. Forbes listed her as the 12th most influential women in the media industry in 2009 and Guardian has also placed her on the Top 100 Media List at the time. In the year 2011, AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post and made the president of that media unit, which comprised of many at the time-operating AOL properties, including Engadget AOL music Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli was the youngest daughter of Konstantinos the journalist who also works as a management consultant. The couple was close to her father. It was her connection with her mother that shaped her. From her childhood she showed the qualities of a leader for which she is well-known. At 16 years of age she moved to United Kingdom to pursue her studies and enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. Her appearance in Face the music with Bernard Levin was also notable. She began writing books with his guidance in editing.
